As a musician, it is Marlene's priority to help clients with the process of selecting an ensemble and repertoire while respecting their unique idea and expectations. Bring your creativity and ideas to her, and she will provide the experience and means to make them happen.
All her services include a complimentary consultation to discuss the type of event and music of your preference, as well as the instrumentation choices, repertoire, and event details.
During your complimentary consultation, you will have the opportunity to discuss what musicians and repertoire you will need to create the mood you want – whether it is an outdoor, indoor, country or city gala. Special packages will be created to suit your needs.

Wedding Ceremony
Violin Solo
Includes 15 minutes of prelude music as guests arrive, processional, interludes, recessional, background music until people exit the venue and transportation within the Ottawa/Gatineau region. Mileage to be added if outside this region, based on location.
Violin Solo for Small Events
Marlene is available for small events events as a solo violinist. Her base rate for small events includes a complimentary consultation, rehearsal, performance, physical time present on the event, and transportation within Ottawa-Gatineau region.
Ensembles
Duo “El Río” was formed in 2007 by violinist Marlene Cruz Lozano and guitarist Rob MacSpurren .
The Duo’s eclectic sound draws from Rob and Marlene’s contrasting music backgrounds and personalities. Together they explore World Music, making their own arrangements influenced by their personal experience with a wide variety of genres and traditional rhythms from around the world.
The combined influence from Latin-American music, rock, jazz, improvisation and classical music is where El Rio has found its voice.
Wedding & Cocktail Combo
We offer a combination of Ceremony/Cocktail music lasting about 2 hours, which can be tailored for both occasions if preferred. The cocktail segment typically runs for an hour (with a 15-minute grace period in case of delays), featuring a mix of music genres like jazz, blues, Latin-American, Celtic, Tango, Spanish music, Beatles, and Rock.
In this package, the instrumentation includes Violin and Guitar (Classical for the ceremony and electro-acoustic for the cocktail). While I can accommodate other instrument preferences, this classical and popular music blend is the most popular and versatile choice, appealing to both classical and contemporary music fans.
